Our Story
Xenoph, known as Chef Xen, born and raised in Fife, is a highly experienced and dedicated Professional Chef with more than 30 years experience in the hospitality industry.
Xen’s career began in Dunfermline as Head Chef with Townhouse Restaurant and St Margaret’s Hotel. Later, moving to Edinburgh he opened a number of Mariachi Mexican Restaurants and became the Head Chef at the infamous Tijuana Yacht Club which formerly stood on Hanover Street.
Xen moved on from Mexican into contract catering with Elior UK as Head Chef in the newly built Hibernian Training Centre in Ormiston, eventually moving his career in-house with Hibernian Football Club, managing the Training Centre as well as all hospitality at the Football Stadium for a full 10 years. In addition to this, Xen has provided ad-hoc hospitality support to Heart of Midlothian Football Club, Murrayfield Stadium and various other Elior Stadia sites.
Following the Scottish Cup win, and a move back to Fife with his family, Xen transferred his career closer to Perth taking up the position as Head Chef and Production Manager at the prestigious Strathallan School followed by his appointment as Head of Catering at 5 Star Iconic Scone Palace.
In 2020, Xen and his wife Sabrina set up For Food Sake providing restaurant quality outside catering and Heat@Home dishes. With a steady following, 2 years later in Nov 2022, they took ownership of Cafe @ Number 16 in Aberdour.
Cafe @ Number 16 is a busy Coastal Cafe, providing locally sourced, fresh ingredients that deliver a range of high quality dishes for food on-site, takeaway, private dining and outside catering.
With hospitality, health & nutrition and event management experience, Xen & Sabrina can provide bespoke services in food and dining around Fife. “The restaurant model has changed and people are discovering other ways of enjoying restaurant quality food at a time that suits them”.
